The Nevada Women’s Film Collective hosted a Young Filmmakers' Workshop as a part of the 2017 festival. The workshop was open to children ages 8 to 16 years old.
The workshop was held on March 4, 2017 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Film Department studios and editing facilities. During the workshop, the young filmmakers learned the process of making a short film including the script writing process, shooting and editing. The finished films will be premiered in a special showcase at the Nevada Women’s Film Festival on March 25, 2016 at the beautiful Springs Preserve.
The Young Filmmakers' Workshop was led by May May Luong, Instructor at the UNLV Department of Film. Among her many achievements, May May is the 2017 Nevada Woman Filmmaker of the Year.
